1.0 Project Goals and Objectives

Introduction

This project is based on the renovation of the St. Dismas Assisted Living Facility as well as addition of new residential area and implementation of medical information management system. The project will be conducted in several phases and a significant amount of investment is required to get the project done within time.

In this report, the project goals, objectives and scope are identified and project duration has been determined.

1.0 Project Goals and Objectives

The primary goals of the project include the complete renovation of the hospital building, addition and implementation of better hospital facilities and development of a new management system for better and faster operations. Due to the age of the building, there have been several areas where walls have got eroded and need urgent repair (Harrison & Lock, 2017). The existing facilities have not been upgraded as well as hence require urgent upgrade as well as replacement. Finally, IT is finally going to be an integral part of the hospital operations with the development of the new management system. Hence, the objectives of the project are derived as follows.

To survey the entire building and mark the areas that need repair and renovation
To survey existing facilities and equipments for determining changes
To survey the requirements and features for the management system
To procure materials for building renovation
To repair the marked areas and renovate the entire building
To replace old facilities and replace them with new ones
To upgrade the medical equipments and facilities
To develop an online medical process management system

2.0 Project Scope Statement

The scope of the project includes the following.

The scope includes the renovation of the entire hospital building.
The scope includes changes and upgrades in various departments in the hospital.
The scope includes the development of a medical management system that will increase the processing of various hospital operations like registering a patient, processing of hospital bill payment, searching for existing patient’s medical records and others (Laudon & Laudon, 2016).

The overall scope of the project also includes fulfilling the following milestones / activities within an estimated duration as shown in the following table.
