Self reflection is extremely crucial and serves as one of the key elements in the career needs (Schön 2017). This is because self reflection helps in the development of skills and review the effectiveness of the skills that are already in an individual. Self reflection is all about enquiring about the self in a positive tone or way (Barbulescu 2015). It includes questions such as what, why and then taking a final decision whether there exist any of the better ways or efficient ways to walk in the pathway of career. Self reflection and self awareness are some of the key points while reaching the decision for career (Gbadamosi et al. 2015). This is because it helps in understanding the skill sets together with taking of opportunity and advices from the others. Thinking and analyzing about one’s personal skillset can help in further identification of the required changes.
Self reflection is a crucial career development procedure (Deeley 2014). I believe that having a detailed analysis of my self reflective skills will definitely help me towards the achievement of my goal of becoming an successful analyst in a networking company in my country, Australia. From the very beginning of my school days I developed a keen liking towards working in an networking firm. This is because apart from the field of IT, the networking forms are the next boom in the current market of employment. I chose to study bachelors in technology in the field of electronics and communication for shaping up my goal and to reach my target. My career and my skill sets are my first priority and I will keep on revising and improving my knowledge, update myself with this fast technology world for reaching my target. Networking has been my passion since the very first day of my college and I aim to expertise in that filed in my near future.
Skills are basically talents or expertise to execute a task in an efficient way (Jayaweera 2015). In the competitive era of the job market, candidates possessing key skills who are also able to showcase their set of skills falls under the choice of most of the employers (Sheldon et al. 2015). Some of the personal attributes and the employability skills that I really need to develop to fall under the choice of the top recruiters includes effective communication, fluency in verbal communication, fluency and correct written communication, being a team player, good problem solving techniques, active and commercially savvy in nature, skills of self motivation, skills of organization and management, skills for the evaluation of quantitative data set, flexibility, time management, updated technological knowledges and high end personality. These skills are extremely necessary for bridging the gap among the academic curriculum and the requirements of the industry (Meyers et al. 2015). Thus it is extremely essential for me to develop or revise these skills for the achievement of my goal smoothly.
I believe apart from my academics I have certain other skill sets as my strengths. These are leadership skills, effective time management skills, willingness in the attitude, attention to the detail and achievements in the academic field just like stated before (Hallinger et al. 2018). I have received ample of ranks and certificates for topping my class and ranking among top ten in the entire school. My academic grades are the perfect example of my keen interest towards studies and the hunger for knowledge or to know more. Let me give some of the relevant examples of my skill sets. While practicing effective leadership skills, I tend to develop chaired meetings in my university with my classmates and my friends for the formation and execution of the semester projects. For practicing my willing attitude, I tend to take up challenging tasks from my teachers and professors to create a good impression before the. In case of effective time management skills, I follow a daily tracker in my cupboard and divide all my activities and try to follow them according to the time schedule of the tracker. In case of attention to detail, I prefer to scrutinize each and every work related to my project or assignment submission and give attention to each and every details and classification before the final submission.
Deficiencies are the negative factors on each of the individual’s life (Stewart 2014). Apart from all other strengths and skill sets that I inherit proudly, I need to focus on my weakness as well. These identified areas will be needing rigorous improvements and further developments and these negative factors or the weakness needs real strategies for my further improvements.

One of the major areas that I need to develop and improve is my skill of communication. Though I know English pretty well, the fluency in the verbal communication makes me fall behind many of the students of my class. Communicating out of my house and my comfort space makes me panic and I end up jumbling my words for no good at all. The idea of public speaking has always been quiet challenging for me and I start to panic hearing the very idea of communication in public. I need to revise this are and so I will join the local toastmaster club from the very next month and will definitely attend my classes on regular basis. Another of my weakness is the lack of competency in excel. Well I know that the competency in excel is extremely important incase of accounting and I need to develop these skills. For properly addressing this weakness of mine I will enroll myself in the TAFE course in the year end and will set aside one hour on each week for practicing my exercises for my improvement in the competency of the program. Lastly, since I do not know many of the people from the area I wish to work, I identified some of the organization in my country like IBM, Cisco, KPMG, PwC and Westpac Group and aim to join them in my near future.
