Step 1 Define organizations goal

Step 7 Preparing the Budget and schedule
Based on the results of the review a project plan and budget are put in place. The plan should include what key actions are needed who is responsible and what resources are needed to get it completed. The plan should be flexible with some stretch goals. Step 8 Secure Resources, Assistance
The plan should be reviewed by top management and in some cases, there may be some outside funding and other types of assistance that is available (I.E trade associate, state technical assistance) (ISO 14001,2015)
Step 9 Involve employees
Ownership of the EMS will be greatly helped by using the involvement of meaningful employee contribution. Employees are a great resource on knowledge of the workplace. The employees can help in drafting procedures. (ISO 14001,2015)
Step 10: Monitor and communicate progress
As EMS progresses be sure to regularly monitor against the goals and project plan. Communication should be brought to the whole organization.
