The aim of the current assignment is to develop a strategic plan for the Lifeline Healthcare Institute, which is one of the premium healthcare organization in the southeastern part of United States. This is one of the major healthcare organization that aims to provide mental healthcare to the people of the region. The report will highlight upon the strategic plan and the core competency value of the organization that will help to decide upon the mission and vison statement of the organization. The action plan also needs to be included that will help reflect in the organizational mission.
The strategic plan is made for the Lifeline Heath Care Institute with the core purpose of serving and addressing mental health needs of the people of living in the Southeastern region of United States. The hospital is focused on providing psychiatric help to people struggling with ageing related mental health issues such dementia, delirium as well as mental health issues in young people caused due to certain trauma, shock or challenges in life. The global burden of disability due to mental illness has increased and rise in mental disorder has affected the life of Americans. A recent report has revealed that the number of adults with diagnosable mental disorder in America is about 1 in every 5 people. Although all conditions do not lead to disability in people, however among 43 million Americans, nearly 10 million people develop serious impairment due to major depressive disorder or serious anxiety or mood disorder (NIMH » Mental Health Awareness Month: By the Numbers, 2017). Hence, Lifeline Health Care Institute came up to provide advanced care to people suffering from serious mental disorder and improve their health related quality of life as far as possible.
To meet the core objective, the hospital is serving about 2 million people living in metropolitan areas of Alabama, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia and Kentucky. It is a 500 bed hospital with branches in different cities. It has a large group of employees consisting of clinician, psychologist, nurses, psychiatrist, counselors, social workers and nutritionist who collaborate with each other to provide extensive psychiatric care. The hospital also has collaboration with local mental health community center to refer people for admission and based on severity, patients are admitted to different departments of the hospital. The main service offered in the hospital includes medical services, individual therapy service, social care service, recreation therapy and life skills services.

In US, behavioral health disorder has become highly prevalent due to lifestyle changes. Behavioral health department is the most important department in Lifeline Health Care Institute because behavioral anomalies eventually contribute to serious mental disorder in United States. Despite an increase in treatment options, psychological issues in patient such as depression, social phobia, bipolar disorder, substance abuse and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder has become highly prevalent (Parcesepe & Cabassa, 2013). According to WHO report, at least 27% people will experience mental health disorder whereas chances of mental health disorder in entire life time are about 47.4% (Walton, 2017). Hence, considering this estimate, the hospital has prepared accordingly to maintain the skills and number of workforce to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with mental illness.
The mission statement of the healthcare institute will reflect upon the core competency values and strategic plan of the Lifeline Healthcare Institute (Price et al., 2014). The principle mission statement is to deliver new innovations within the mental healthcare system and serve the society with full compassion. The vison of the organization is to ensure and deliver the best mental healthcare service for all people within the region of south eastern part of USA. It is also necessary to ensure that people within the region, who are suffering from mental disorders are able to get the best and compassionate forms of treatment.
The environment of the Lifeline Healthcare Institute is to initiate the environment of excellence care that will be associated with that of the emotional and spiritual care for all types of patients. The quality of the healthcare service is also one of the major areas of concern for the organization. Hence, the employees within the organization plays the most vital role in fulling the mission of developing high quality of mental healthcare service that will be the unique feature of the Lifeline institute. The commitment foe the high level of organizational service is possible due to the dedication of the employees towards individual level of patient care. The development of the work environment will help to assist in dealing with the high level of challenge that is involved within the process of providing quality healthcare. Hence, one of the major element of the organizational mission is to ensure that high quality of working staffs are being recruited within the organization and they are given proper training that will help them to enhance their skill in accordance with the organizational mission.
The service strategy of the healthcare organization is to maintain high level of clarity with that of the patient group. This is possible with the infrastructure of the technological information system. The website of the healthcare institute is also highly developed that is helpful in providing advanced level of information for the patient care (Corrigan et al., 2014).
The advanced level of service that is provided by the Lifeline Healthcare Institute is totally dependent upon the performance of the employees. Hence, it is essential for the healthcare institute to have effective planning in the overall process of employee recruitment and training programs. Therefore, one of the major job role of the mental health care worker is to spread high level of awareness among the population.

This can help in the organization to provide personalized level of mental healthcare treatment that is one of the primary organizational mission. The organization also aims to properly retain the employees, which helps them to fulfill the mission of providing experienced type of service to the patients.
The highly developed technological infrastructure of the organization in the action plan helps within the development process of service strategy. This help them to provide with high level of advanced infrastructure and develop advanced level of networking system within the healthcare organization.
