Leadership in an organization is a process under which a person is responsible for managing the employees and all the activities conducted by an organization (Northouse, 2021). The non-profit organization selected for this particular discussion is mental health America of Georgia, based in the United States of America. Mental Health America of Georgia organization is responsible for raising awareness among the country’s people about mental Wellness and helps overcome the issues related to mental problems (Wang & Smith, 2022).
In this organization, an executive role is discussed in this plan responsible for making significant changes. The area of focus selected for this discussion is the human services delivery system used to provide efficient services to society without any disruption (Berns et al., 2021). This area of focus is chosen because of the issues arising among the people that directly affect the lives of the people in society as a whole. This report includes the methods used for implementing the human services activities, Capacity building, competency factors involved, timeline framed during the planning and evaluation of the activities and the evaluation of the success of achieving the organization’s objectives.
To gather information about the requirements needed for implementing the changes in the organization to improve the human services are open-end surveys. Open-end surveys are conducted to know the complete opinion of the respondents with the help of adequate knowledge, feeling and understanding (Tso et al., 2022). This method is most suitable for improving the human services in the Mental Health America of Georgia organization as it helps to identify and analyze the issues in providing human health services to the people in the region. With the help of the open end surveys method, the employees of the organization and the general public can express their opinion regarding the present human services system and the improvement that needs to be done (Mirzaei et al., 2022). This method of open-end surveys helps identify the gaps in the existing human services system of Mental Health America of Georgia and make changes in delivering the services.
The primary research method of open-end surveys that are being conducted for framing the strategic plan of Mental Health America of Georgia is accurate for analyzing the capacity for improving the human services system of the organization. Open-end surveys provide more details about the human services system of Mental Health America of Georgia that helps analyze the qualitative data collected to manage the human services system more efficiently (Moss, Loor & Parada, 2022). The method implemented for building the capacity in Mental Health America of Georgia is Partnerships. Partnerships are used to involve other communities or organizations in the activities of the human services in the organization. The involvement of other communities and organizations gives rise to the flow of ideas and communication network that helps expand the primary organization’s reach to other people in society. The participation of other communities and industries improving the Human Services system positively impacts the organization’s capacity and effectiveness (Masekela et al., 2022). The partnership method allows other industries to participate in the betterment of the existing Human Services system that improves the quality of leadership in the organization.
Cultural competency refers to the attributes that suggest good communication skills and other interpersonal skills in a leader required to build capacity for a human service initiative (Hart et al., 2021). A Leader Of the organization that holds an executive role must be acquired with cultural competency factors such as positive attitude and listening skills to easily connect with people from other cultures. For example, for implementing a significant change in society to improve people’s mental health, it is necessary for the organization’s leader to clearly understand the problems that the people are facing with the help of cultural competency factors (Cosgrove et al., 2021). The components of cultural awareness help the organization’s leader effectively complete the Human Services activities in the society by building an emotional connection with the people at a large scale. Moreover, the components of cultural awareness and cultural competency Indy leaders conducting the human service activities are responsible for Completing the activities by influencing the people End by improving their mental health condition.
For a timeline for conducting the activities concerning the human services initiative, it is important to set a short-term goal to be achieved for particular tasks. A timeline is a pictorial representation of the dates and tasks to be performed in the human services initiative with accuracy and on time (Luiselli et al., 2022). In the planning stage of the human services initiative, a framework is designed, and the methods and strategies are decided to be implemented in the future.
In the planning stage, methods such as open end surveys and partnerships are decided to implement the human services initiative. In the implementation stage, the actual work and the activities are conducted on the ground involved in the human services initiative (Gotham et al., 2022). For example, in implementing the method of partnerships, the meetings are conducted to build professional connections with the other communities and industries. In the evaluation method, the implemented methods are supervised by the executives of the organization and the outcomes of the activities conducted are analyzed.
It is the responsibility of the organization’s executives to supervise and analyze the results of the human services initiative that are conducted to ensure the achievement of the organization’s objectives. There are some tools and methods used to evaluate the achievement of the organization’s goals and to complete the tasks of the human services initiative (Armstrong, 2021). The tools and methods used to evaluate the success of the activities that Mental Health America of Georgia conducts are Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Performance Management Frameworks (PMF). With the help of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), the organization can measure the actual performance of the activities conducted, and the timeframe of the activities is also checked. The Performance Management Frameworks (PMF) helps the organization prepare a balanced scorecard of all the individuals involved in the conducting of the activities related to the human services initiative (Zarrin, Schoenfelder & Brunner, 2022). The success of the Mental Health America of Georgia is determined by the change in the mental health of the people in the society and by reducing mental health diseases among the people.
Sustainability is a concept that ensures the long-term goals are achieved from the organization’s activities of human services initiatives. The human services strategic plans that are being built is sustainable as it creates a long-term positive impact by improving people’s mental health in society (Matson, 2022). The government policies and decisions also affect the implementation of human services activities in the area. With the change in the government policy and strategies, it becomes difficult for the organization’s executives to continue the implementation of the human services activities (Metz et al., 2021). In this case, the organization’s executive adapts the change in the policies quickly and makes significant changes in the methods of implementation of the human services activities among the people in society.
Conclusion
From the above discussion about the strategic planning process of the implementation of the human services activities, it is concluded that the organization’s executives are responsible for the success of the activities conducted. The strategic planning process of Mental Health America of Georgia included the methods of Partnerships and open-end surveys for planning the implementation of the human services activities.
This strategic plan for evaluating the methods that are implemented are the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and the Performance Management Frameworks (PMF) that helped the executive of the organization to properly analyze the results. While conducting the human services activities, it is ensured that the implementation methods are sustainable for the longer term.
