The completion of college education is a long-term process. In order to render a complete degree from the college I have to go through different phases. The entire journey of college completion depends on the individual student on how they would be able to deal with the phases (Martinelli and Milosevic 2016). For an example, a large number of students while making their college education are associated with other jobs. Those kinds of students are flexible enough to make a balance between the study and work. On the other hand, it has also been observed that many college educators fail to complete their degree in stipulated time being unable to bear the expense of education, extreme work pressure as well as immense load in study schedule. However, I was not appointed with any business firm. Therefore, during the completion of degree I have concentrated to conduct the entire study course seriously. Different phases of my college education completion life cycle are as follows:
In the pre-enrollment phase, I have made an effective plan and strategy on how I would be able to complete my education process successfully. I have made a serious conversation with my professors on how to develop my knowledge and skill. I have communicated with the external experts as well to take their suggestion. In the phase of enrollment, I have identified who would be perfect for me to complete my college education within stipulated period of time. I have decided to receive the guidance of my college professor for developing my learning process. In the phase of academic advance, I have started my learning process systematically. As per the proper guidance and notes taken from my professors I have evaluated my knowledge and skills. At the same time, I have attended the remedial classes in the college to collect study notes. In the phase of achievement, I gave final examination to rate my skill of progress. By analyzing my progress report, I have identified my mistakes and got to know on how I should improve my skill. Therefore, these four phases were the brief overview of my entire journey of learning process.
In order to complete the phases more smoothly I could have followed some of the techniques more to complete the activities more systematically. I could have used technology for saving my time while I was taking notes from my professor. For an example, the class notes that I have collected from my professors was hand written. Therefore, the entire process was very much time consuming for me. In this particular case, I could have used pen-drive to carry the entire lecture note. Maintaining a learning process with the help of virtual media is very much effective. Therefore, I could have concentrated this particular time in study to make me more prepared for the examination.
The model that I might create for making a difference from the previous one is as follows:
In my previous model, I have collected the guideline and lecture note of the professor without using the advancement of technology. Therefore, the entire process was very much time consuming. At the same time, in my current improvised model I have kept a scope of giving online test for evaluating my progress of knowledge and competency. I have not used those aspects in the previous model.
Advanced technology is the only tool that can help me immensely in order to complete the entire model. Before giving an online test, I should have the accessibility in my home. At the same time, in order to carry lecture note from my professor I should have a pen-drive with the help of which I would be able to carry the note and save the note in my own drive.
As per the case scenario, it has been observed that Custom Load Trucking is not ready to pay a justified remuneration to an efficient project manager if they want to hire for their organization (Kerzner 2013). In this case, the idea of building a project manager from the organization is not bad. In order to become a project manager an individual person should have the capability to successfully co-ordinate the project amidst innumerable adversity. This particular individual would have to be accustomed with the changing process of technology. At the same time, the project manager should know how to make a specific project successfully by maintaining a team co-ordination and co-operation (Ahmad and Cuenca 2013). Therefore, a person within the organization like Custom Load Trucking already knows the positive and negative aspects of their company. Therefore, they would be able to handle any kind of problem more efficiently than the new one. In this kind of situation, the organization should select such a person from the organization who has sufficient experience in handling team members amidst extreme work pressure. In addition, Custom Load Trucking can provide an effective training for one week to that person who would be selected for the post of project manager.
While measuring the efficiency of a project manager Monica can measure three aspects from an individual very carefully. For an example, if Stewart can be selected for the post of project manager, Monica should measure the efficiency from several perspectives that are as follows:
In order to become an efficient project manager, the person like Stewart should have an in-depth control over technology to maintain chronological database regarding the project. At the same time, technological knowledge helps to overcome any kind of certain technological barrier at the workplace (Beringer, Jonas and Kock 2013).
Before selecting an individual in the post of project manager Monica should verify whether the person such as Stewart have the capability to guide the team members towards the right direction (Davis 2014). At the same time, the individual person should know how to interact with every team member and to co-ordinate with him or her for accomplishing the project successfully.
While dealing with a particular project the team members have to face innumerable barriers in order to conduct everything systematically. Team members may not be supportive to provide their best endeavor to this specific project. As a result, project manager may have to face difficulties to run the entire project successfully (Olszak and Ziemba 2012). Therefore, in this kind of situation the person like Stewart should have the capability to keep remain cool and technical.
In order to become a project manager and to reach the possibility of high level of success I would like to suggest that the individual should gain in-depth knowledge and experience regarding the project material before taking the responsibility. The person should conduct detailed research for getting an overview on how project can be improved. Research should be conducted for evaluating the risk factors of completing this project (Alzahrani and Emsley 2013). Therefore, as per the job structure, the project manager has to be skillful in terms of both academy and experience to deal with a specific project successfully. On the other hand, the project manager’s job should be sympathetic towards the team members. With the help of participative leadership style, the project manager can give the team members an opportunity to share their opinion as well regarding the success of project (Turner and Zolin 2012). As a result, the team members would show their motivational attitude for performing well for the success of business. On the other hand, the foremost job role of an efficient project manager should be treating every individual team member with equal priority and response. The project manager should not have any kind of cultural or religious or gender biasness.
If I was in the place of Monica, I would like to suggest Stewart some of the most important advices for being a project manager and that are as follows:
After evaluating the entire case scenario it can be analyzed that Edward should focus on making interview session by involving minimum thirty brokers rather than forming questionnaires. Questionnaires are the method of collecting necessary feedback from different participants. In this particular data collection, method the data analyst would not be able to gather information by directly interacting with the respondents (Mir and Pinnington 2014). On the other hand, with the help of interview session, Edward would be able to communicate directly with the brokers to gather direct feedback. Edward would be able to interact with those brokers to know their point of view regarding the importance of online trading system. If most of the respondents ten to show their reluctance for using online trading system Edward would get the scope to identify the exact problem why brokers are not showing their interest towards online trading system (Savolainen, Ahonen and Richardson 2012). If technological flexibility becomes the primary barriers for the brokers, Edward can get the opportunity to take an immediate step on how to overcome these barriers.
In order to raise an interest in the mind of customers regarding online trading system, Edward can focus on maintaining an initial communication with the customers through telephone. By maintaining a telephonic conversation, Edward would be able to interact directly with the customers and receive their immediate feedback. In this specific conversation, Edward can make the customers understand what the positive aspects of online trading system are. Customers would not have to visit physically to the organization for purchasing a particular product or service (McLeod, Doolin and MacDonell 2012). The customers can order their required products by sitting at their home. In this kind of situation, they can save their time and money as well. Customers would have to be convinced on how online trading system is profitable for them.
Among the stakeholders, Edward should not include the customers only. Employees can be considered as one of the major parts of stakeholders. While dealing with the employees Edward has observed that, every individual employee within the organization is not very much advanced in technology. In this kind of situation, employees as well become a major barrier to initiate online trading system within the organization like John and Jacob, Inc. In order to involve the employees towards this particular plan, Edward should provide an effective training and development program with the help of which the employees would be able to evaluate their skills and competencies regarding technological skills (Müller, Geraldi and Turner 2012). Among the stakeholders, employees and the customers play the most significant role. The success of a business organization like John and Jacob is highly dependent on the response of the customers towards products and services of that specific organization. At the same time, John and Jacob would never be able to reach the peak of recognition without receiving a good performance from the employees (Unger, Gemünden and Aubry 2012). Therefore, both the employees and the customers are major stakeholders who the project manager such as Edward should convince to get involved within online trading system.
