Felizardo C. Lipana National High School is a secondary school located in Guiguinto, Bulacan. It caters more than 2,000 students every year with 65 faculty members.
The Felizardo C. Lipana National High School is a public high school, it runs under the supervision of the government and the Department of Education. The class is hold every Mondays to Fridays and starts from 7:40 in the morning until 4’o clock in the afternoon. There are 47 sections all in all: thirteen sections in the first year (Grade 7), twelve sections in the second year, eleven sections in the third year and eleven sections in the fourth year.
For every section there are estimated 60 students under a supervision of an adviser. The students have 8 different subjects to tackle every day.
And due to the accessibility of FCLNHS to other schools in the province of Bulacan, it becomes a frequent host of division and even regional trainings/ workshops and competitions.
There are two computer laboratory rooms in FCLNHS.
Each laboratory room has twelve computers that are connected to a network and in to the internet. All the computers are running Windows XP Operating System and equipped with MS Office and Adobe Photoshop for computer subjects. There are other eight computers: the three are placed at the principal’s office, another three computers in the coordinator’s room and the other two are in the registrar’s office.
In the year 1970, Don Felizardo C. Lipana and Kapitan del Bario Melquiades B. Juan thought of a secondary school that would cater to the students of Sta.
Rita. Their noble objective gained support from then Gat. Mayor Domingo Gonzales and Congressman Teodulo Natividad, thus, the birth of Sta. Rita Barangay High School.
It started with only a handful of students and one full- time teacher. The school was managed by the elementary school principal who acted as assistant principal for high school. In no time, the student population multiplied and so was the number of teachers and classrooms. Juanita C. Santos and Numerenciana P. Martin sought the help of the PTA President, Dionisio Jose and Melquiades Lipana- del Bario, heirs of Don Felizardo C. Lipana donated a 1 hectare lot to the school. The high school developed through the concerted efforts of Congressman Pedro M. Pancho and other politicians.
Furthermore, in 1993 the Japanese Government granted JICA building, a manifesto of their socio- civic program in the Philippines. Through House Bill No. 7536 authored by Congressman Pancho, Sta. Rita High School was changed to Felizardo C. Lipana Memorial High School in memory of the Lipana patriarch. At present the school is already Felizardo C. Lipana National High School under the supervision of its principal, Edgardo J. Mendoza whose concerns are mainly to promote value- based education, active community service and the improvement of instruction in consonance with the thrusts of the Department of Education.
Felizardo C. Lipana National High School is committed to the preparation of students to become productive and useful members of the community. Bound to its commitment to equip the graduates of the much- needed skills in the advancement of their skills both individually and professionally for student’s formation is given highest preference. All the success of every student is made possible because of the help of the teachers who comprise the roster of highly trained, committed staffs of the FCLNHS. During the last four years the number of enrollees went higher. Students from neighboring towns and provinces thrive not only because of its geographical condition but more importantly is the reputation on its teachers and the school itself.
One of the important documents students have is the scholastic records that will prove they have complied with all the requirements and passed all the subjects within the school year. As the number of the student population continues to grow the more student records must be filed and kept in the registrar’s office. And because of the large number of students coming every year the cost for resources like papers, envelopes and file cabinets becomes excessive. Also, when it comes in producing a copy of the student record the transaction turns slower because the specific record is not that easy to retrieve due to the huge pile of records kept in the file cabinets.
Felizardo C. Lipana National High School promotes quality education to its students. As they give students’ formation the highest preference FCLNHS is committed to the preparation of students to become productive and useful members of the community and to equip the graduates of the much- needed skills in the advancement of their skills both individually and professionally. And because of reputation built on its teachers and the school itself during the last four years the number of enrollees went higher.
Because of the growth in the student population the more student records must be filed and kept in the registrar’s office. The number of records costs a lot of money for resources like papers, envelopes and file cabinets. Likewise, the use of manual filing system nowadays is not anymore recommendable for institutions like this because every year the population is expected to increase and it means that more files would probably summed up to the file cabinets until there is already no space for use.
Another problem arises when a former student requests for a copy of his scholastic records, when it comes to producing a copy the process might be longer. Because of the huge amount of records kept it will surely take time and effort for the person-in-charge to search for the record needed. In retrieving the record, each cabinet are labeled according to year level, inside are envelopes labeled alphabetically for the last names of the students this will help the registrar’s office to organize the filing system.
Due to high number of students in FCLNHS, records kept are getting bigger and harder to retrieve. This may result to slow transaction and a lot money because of the resources like papers, envelopes and file cabinets used.
