The project mainly reflects on the development of information system in “Brisbane Multi-Faith Temple”. The organization aims to develop the information system so that all the operations of the temple can be managed automatically and the challenges that the organization faces due to the current system can be resolved easily.
In order to develop the information system for the organization “Brisbane Multi-Faith Temple”, proper software development methodology is generally used. It is identified that the selection of software development methodology must be done as per the requirement of the project (Kerzner 2013). The needs as well as requirements of the project for developing the information system for the organization must be broken down into number of different sequential phases. It is identified that proper effort is generally provided on planning as well as maintaining the budget of the project so that the entire project must be successfully completed within the time and budget that is estimated.
Agile model is mainly selected in order to develop the information system for the organization. According to Mir and Pinnington (2014), Gantt chart or project schedule is mainly utilized in order to monitor the resources that are assigned to each of the project activities and for tracking the time that is needed in order to complete the project successfully. On the other hand, a work breakdown structure is mainly created in order to break the project activities into number of manageable tasks for estimating the time that is needed for completing the project successfully (Turner 2016). Thus, it can be analyzed that both Gantt chart as well as WBS are required for successfully executing the project within the time that is estimated.
The goals as well as requirements of the system must be properly understood in order to develop the schedule of the project effectively. The project schedule is considered reasonable as it is mainly developed by aligning the needs of the organization so that the project manager must follow it properly and can be able to complete the project successfully within the estimated cost as well as time (Boud, Cohen and Sampson 2014).
