This report will entail the comparison of literature analysis with current practice in which two organizations Practo and Make My Trip will be taken in to consideration to emphasize the importance of technology in handling various activities with the help of the internet and latest technology. The issues related to the latest technology and the solutions of them will be mentioned under this report.
According to Loo, Mauri and Ortiz, (2016), technology has been taken place in current market of any kind of business and without technology business cannot grow rapidly. The role of the mobile technology in bringing change in the market is massive as it facilitates people to do smart work in less time. In the context of mobile technology, it can be said that it is the technology that is portable. For instance, mobile IT devices involved Smartphone, laptops, wireless debit card system and portable devices that help in using number of various communications technologies such as wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) which is a kin d of wireless local area network technology, Bluetooth that helps in connect mobile devices wirelessly, virtual private networks that secure access to a private network. Moreno-Munoz, Bellido-Outeirino, Siano and Gomez-Nieto, (2016), elaborated the advantages of mobile technologies in the growth of the business. These are high level of efficiency and productivity of staff, quality and flexibility of service that offered by companies to their customers, the capability to adapt payment wirelessly, huge access to modern applications and services.
In the perspective of Ricci, Rokach and Shapira, (2015), Mobile technology is able to amplify sophistication and among enterprises. The website of Practo offer service to patient to book confirmed appointments with doctors mentioned in the list of Practo Website. This service is free for patients as well as the doctor. This company had booked around 28,000 appointments in 2014 (Practo, 2018). It is necessary for the patient to know more about the company as it does not provide an advice related to medical and any emergency medical assistance. Healthcare providers can bind the power of Practo Website as an effective platform that facilitates them to create their presence and develop establishments. Practo offers its services in India, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Brazil and the website of this company is made by taking consideration of easy to understand. In 2011 year, the company made number of travel-related applications for all kinds of mobile devices such as smart phones and basic cell phones. This company is also created three acquisitions such as ITC Group Hotel Travel Group and ETB Group and Tours and Travel Private Limited (Singapore), in order to get entry in the new market in South-East Asian region and Europe. Along with that it has been found that in 2014, MMT associated $15 million innovation fund to give support early stage companies in the journey space. With respect to products and services, MMT offers rail, bus and flight tickets along with cab services and hotel booking services on its company portal. The company wants to expand its business globally and that is why it put huge efforts to make it real that is why the company launched travel mobile application in 2012 for iphone, Blackberry, Windows phone and Android devices. The company has route planner that provide all kind of travel information to millions of people so that they can get high quality accommodation and booking services at the time of going different place. MMT git many awards such as Best Service Provider Company, Best Travel Innovator, Best Mobile Strategy and Best Mobile Solution, Best Travel Portal, e-tailor of the Year and many more (Make My Trip, 2018).
According to Turban, Leidner, McLean and Wetherbe, (2008), internet is playing significant role in encouraging the growth of the technologies in now a days. India may be going digital and ready to adapt new technology in order to compete with other countries but high speed internet on mobile phones is becoming a challenge, even on 4G. The ranking of India on broadband penetration is dropped to 131 in the year of 2014. It has been found that the infrastructure deficit has become the major reason behind slow speed of internet and the requirement of agreement between the central and state governments do not provide sufficient services in order to increase the rapid demand of technology all over India.
According to BBC News, India is considered as the huge market for mobile telephony but the approach of India is limited up to making phones and selling them and the considerations of internet speed is not good India (Chanana and Goele, 2012). According to Deloitte Report, it has been found that the sum number of internet users in the country was more than 250 million in 2014 and they were accessing the internet through mobile devices. There is information that around 420,000 mobile network towers nationwide, but few of them support 3G or 4G data use. Along with that statistics show that India is most populated country that stood in third-largest population of internet users in the world (Venkatesh, Thong and Xu, 2012). Despite having high position in using internet, India’s place in relation of internet speed is 52nd which is considered as an average speed of 2 mbps, at the same time as developed Asian countries similar to Japan and South Korea get pleasure from speeds of 14.2 and 11.7 mbps respectively (Ranjan, 2015).
However, lack of fast internet is become the major reason for not only Practo company but for all companies that provide online services to the customers. Practo implement the solution of comprising the file which would take low internet to download. This solution increases the number of users. Along with that the compatibility with different mobile phones such as android, Smartphone, window phones and android is helped company to get huge range of customers (Kazantsev and Thompson, 2008).
MMT is well known company in India that offers number of facilities to the customer when they think about travel. The company should make lite version as Facebook did which help MMT’s user to browse even in low services of internet. Same as Practo, MMT has comprised its file so that the use of internet can be reduced (Malhotra and Singh, 2010). However, the speed of internet is matter in running any kind of application but due to issue of low internet speed in India, company has adopted alternative ideas to get connected with number of customers. There are number of software products that make up the tech stack of MMT by involving Google Maps, Gupshup, Adobe Air, HTML5, Java, Google cloud messaging and Neusters. Along with that the company offers helpline number to the customers in case of having issues in booking services for travel.
It has been found from the comparison of above mentioned solutions that Practo has taken step in improving the internet speed by comprising their file. It would attract number of customers to download it as it will take fewer internets to download. Along with that the compatibility with low internet services with different phones is also good initiative by the company (Ma, Saul, Savage and Voelker, 2009). In the context of MMT, it has been found that there are different software products which MMT is using internally such as Support and sales department is using Oracle Cloud Service, Usabilia. Marketing department uses Webengage, Addthis, Addtoany. HR department uses AngelList Jobs, Infeedo, Mettl. It shows that the focus of MMT towards making good internet services is better in comparison of Practo as MMT has taken various initiatives to make the use of internet effective and this company is active in providing services to the customers (Bakshi, 2015).
Promotion is considered as the voice of the company that helps in increasing the awareness of products and services to the potential customers. There are various media platforms which can be used in order to promote the company and brand. Promotion includes radio, shopping outlets, television, banner, social media sites, magazines and many more. The most advantageous factor of promotion is increment in customer traffic, build sales and profits and provide effective information.
There are many factors that affect the promotion of the company such as budget available, stage in product life cycle, competitors, customer’s preference for media, regulations and many more. It is necessary for the company to choose the target market at the time of promotion because it can impact the entire productivity of the business (Clarke, 2008). For the purpose of selecting the best method to attain various kinds of target markets, companies need to have proper knowledge regarding the different kinds of media different targets utilization, the nature of purchase of the customers and the readiness to purchase is as well as features like age, gender, and lifestyle. Promotion is the backbone of the business as it helps in increasing the awareness of people towards products and services. It has been found that it is not easy for the new company to get the trust of customers instantly as they have to put a lot of efforts to win their trust over the services and products and for this they need to be more active to resolve their queries (Goo, Kishore, Rao and Nam, 2009).
In the context of the promotion, Practo Company is active and promotes its services via social sites. It has been found that it provides location based services to resolve the issues of promotion. LBS refer the services which offered by a mobile phone and allow for the mobile phone’s geographical location. The company has account on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and GitHib LinkedIn which connect the company with number of social site users.
Word of mouth is considered as the great approach of promotion in comparison of other method promotion as the company do not require investing it. It spreads automatically when customers get good and quality services from the company (Atzori, Iera and Morabito, 2010). MMT provides the facility of secure payments to the customers who help them to increase the brand awareness and loyalty of customers. Along with that this company provides the facility of refund as well. In case of booking of wrong tickets or cancellation of plan, MMT provides the facility of full payment refund which is good point to attract many customers towards the services of the company. It shows that the customers are not bound with the company after booking the services; they can cancel if they do not want to continue the plan due to any reason (Rayan et. al., 2017).
After considering the implemented solutions of both companies, it has been found that the both company is focused towards their customers and provide possible solution to resolve the issues. In the context of Practo, it has been found that the company is taking consideration of location based services by which they can provide high quality of services to the customer of medical without going anywhere (Nielsen and Budiu, 2012). It increases the attention of many customers towards the services of this company that are liable to increase the promotion of the company. With respect to MMT Company, it has been found from the above mentioned solution that the company is more focused towards satisfying the customer that is why the company is providing high quality services such as refund facility; secure payment system and skilled employees who have the ability to resolve the query of the customers if any.
According to Vaske, (2011), the major advantages of using internet are to have the ability to connect billions of devices as well as computers to each other. Internet is not only providing the convenience in partaking and receiving information among users but also it has the ability for automation. Along with that the internet has also created the access to information as well as communication in easy way. It provides the facility to the customer to get instant review of desire products so that they can get about the quality and the way of use of particular product. Entire facility of travel services are being offered by this company through internet. With the help of the internet, company offers online booking and confirmations services. Along with that offer travel insurance, access to business lounges and effective discount booklets of shopping. Faster services of MMT has become the major reason behind is famousness in which the company has launched a B2B site that offer Indian Hotels and tour packages for international agents. It has been found that due to an effective services of the company due to internet, many people get employed which can be considered as the great contribution in making good economy of India.
Benefits of internet for both company is equal in their own level. It is required for the businesses to use the internet for the welfare of society so that they can get god response and become the reason for bringing good change in the country. It has been analyzed that Practo will get good response from patients when they get instant services regarding medical on application without going anywhere. It would be helpful for India to make digital India. MMT also provides a lot of services to the customer by using internet. People get advantageous due to effective services of MMT in which they do not require to go anywhere for booking services.
It is easy to open online services for the customer with the help of latest technologies and internet but it is hard to retain customers by providing high quality services to the. Customer care services are another opportunity for both businesses as they can retain the customers and connect with them for the long time. It is required for the business to have the ability to resolve the issues of the customer because the responsibility of the businesses is not ended only up to providing services to the customer while the real responsibility in the context of retaining customers is to provide after sale services.

In case of having issues related to medical and contact with doctors for consultation purpose, Practo’s customer care can resolve the issues of patients and help them to connect with doctors. In the context of MMT, Customer care services is keeping significant role as it helps customer to get updated knowledge regarding the amendments in the travel policy. The company is leading Travel Company and the reliability of this company is more in the view of travellers in comparison of other companies, it is necessary for the company to maintain the trust of the customers over the company and it can be done when company provides after sale services to the customers (Dickinson, Robbins and Lumsdon, 2010). it is not possible that every time customer get satisfied from the services but the resolution of their query can help them to connect with company for a long period.
It has been analyzed that both companies get benefitted due to customer care services as it helps them to retain the customers and connect with them for a long period. Practo will be able to give instant services related to medical to patient which would be great contribution in making India healthy. On the other hand, the site of Practo would be encouraged to go beyond their limits and expand their business to other country. It would increase the opportunity for Indian Economy to have developed business which can improve the unemployment rates. On the other hand, MMT can provide a bundle of joy to many people and give chance people to explore different places at affordable rates in one package. In case of any issue, company can provide instant solution to customers who would help them to retain the customers (Coker, and Mukundan, 2013).
