Discuss About The Government And Organisations To Environment.
Despite so much being done to prevent the environment from government and organizations, the fact still remains very much the same. The number of summits like Paris Agreement is still unproductive. On a similar note, organizations have also struggled to provide any support especially those related to manufacturing works. Sometimes it appears that global government is just earning fame by doing numerous summits and meetings. CSR (corporate social responsibility) activities do also look like just the marketing stunts of organizations. The world is now continually exposed to polluted air which is causing the deaths also (Tainio et al. 2016).
Thesis: “Government and organizations do not appear as seriously devoted to one vision of protecting the environment”
Controlling ideas: The global government must pay a high attention to the number of summits, implementation of environmental policies and the monitoring of the global businesses for CSR.
Controlling idea: It is important to reduce the content of CO2 in air
Thesis: “A reduction in CO2 content in the air can only do the needful in regards to environmental protection”
CO2 content in the air is increasing. Various factors contribute to it like the kinds of vehicles, manufacturing plants and the use of substances like a plastic bag which emit CO2.
Air pollution is the most severe of all kind of pollution. There are strategies being taken at the international and national levels; however, not being supported with clear proposals from the national governments. For example, the clean air strategy in the UK does commit a lot of things; management, loses its plot when it comes out of paper and is implemented in systems. Responsibilities are being handed over to different states while not stating about where the required resources will come from (The Independent 2018).
According to Zhang et al. (2015), air pollution can cause serious health issues like breathing problem, asthma and much more.
In the opinion of Michael and Boniface (2014), developing nations in particular are at higher risks. This is due to the lack of technological advancement, infrastructural shortcomings, people attitude for a healthy approach.
Governments in developed and developing nations have failed so far to successfully implement the policy and make any impact to the environmental issues. Developed nations like the UK promise to have a framework for reducing the environmental impacts; however, does not find the proper ways to generate the required resources like the financial needs (The Independent 2018). On a similar note, the development banks in most emerging nations those are responsible for generating the funds are encouraging to utilize the economic incentives and other strategies. This strategy has had few successes in Europe and the United States; however, donors are not keen to identify whether the same strategy will work for the emerging nations as well (Issues.org 2018).
Emerging and developed nations both have different issues. Emerging nations do not have a clear way to follow whereas developed nations do suffer from communication gaps between states and the government (Han et al. 2017).
CO2 emission is perhaps uncontrollable due to various reasons like the unproven strategies of the government.
Electric Vehicles (EVs), facilitation of preventive measures at manufacturing plants and other preventive measures can really produce a notable impact.
EVs are known for less or probably no CO2 emissions. The recharging point can be the one point of the CO2 emitter, apart from which it is very much safe. However, sales of EV cars are still very limited (Bohnsack, Pinkse and Kolk 2014). Preventive measures must be implemented at the manufacturing sites and the quality of operation must also be monitored, so that, wastages are reduced.
The reduction of CO2 from the air is a huge challenge and can only be done by designing and implementing a robust environmental policy.
Onat, Kucukvar and Tatari (2015) have argued that EVs have failed to live up to the expectation for various reasons which also include the energy storage technology.
It is very challenging and also very impractical at this point of time that CO2 emission is controllable. Possibilities in the form of EVs are still underdeveloped. Customers have disliked quite a few of its features. This will take time until react to it completely. There are lots of government policies which can safeguard the environment from the wastages of manufacturing plants. However, policies are still not implemented effectively.
Controlling ideas: Deforestation must be reduced
Thesis: “Environment is protectable if deforestation is reduced significantly”
Deforestation means reduction of plants in earth and the associated biological process with it. Plants absorb the CO2 released by living beings, vehicles and manufacturing plants. However, deforestation will mean a reduced capacity of environment to absorb the CO2. Hence, there will be unnecessary inflation of CO2 in air which would mean an exposure to toxic substances (Rohde and Muller 2015).
The major solution to deforestation is effective government policies and the incrementing CSR activities from reputed firms.
In the opinion of Feng and Liao (2016), strict government policies can play the significant roles in controlling the rising CO2 content in the air.
According to Pfaff et al. (2014), reducing deforestation will significantly impact others like farmers, foods dependent businesses, government and others. Moreover, agriculture will get hampered and so the production of fresh foods.
Farmers will have less number of agricultural lands. Hence, productivity will decrease. This will hamper its clients such as foods based businesses and the farmers. Foods companies will not be able to provide organic and fresh foods. Customers will suffer as well. Consequently, the government will suffer due to reduced production of fresh foods and the affected business of grocery & fruit based companies.
Deforestation is good as it is about saving green plants and also the environment around us. However, deforestation will not be equally good for the government, farmers and businesses. Farmers will not get the clients and the business will not get customers. Overall, the government will be at loss.
Demands for fresh foods will not be fulfilled. Business and the local economy will also hamper. Farmers will face the challenge to manage their living expenses.
“Deforestation is uncontrollable as there are many who depend on this to serve their purposes”
It is really challenging to reduce the rate of deforestation as it is already serving the long-list of purposes. It can be reduced; however, the level of challenge is higher.
Deforestation gives space to urbanization and the businesses. There are a lot of interrelated benefits which will never encourage the reduction of deforestation.
According to Byerlee, Stevenson and Villoria (2014), rising demands for agricultural lands is one of the causes of deforestation. The demands have soared due to the increased demands for foods especially fresh foods. Demands for foods have increased which is also due to the growing population in the world. There is no other alternative ways which can be used to produce the fresh foods. Hence, it is the situational based needs which encourage the deforestation.
This can be said that deforestation is uncontrollable; however, it can be reduced. This can be done through effective government policies and the implementation as well.
Conclusion
In summary, this can be said that the developed nations such as the UK have frameworks to fight against the environmental pollution. However, policies have not been judged yet for its productivity which is due to unplanned moves of the national government. Developing nations, on the other hand, are trying to follow the same path as that being used by developed nations. However, the government bodies and the donators are not sure about whether such strategies will work. Air pollution requires a controlled & an effective implementation of policies and also the effective utilisation of possible resources like promoting the manufacturing of more and more EVs (Electric Vehicles).
