The performance of the organization can be improved with the help of effective decisions. There are so many functions in the organization which helps to attain the strategy of the organization. Inpex Australia is active in the Timor Sea and the Carnarvon. The organization structure of Inpex will be defined in this report to provide the better understanding about the organization. Internal as well as external forces will be elaborated in the context of same organization. It will also define about the risk that is faced by the company and the steps will be mentioned which is taken by the organization in order to improve them.
The organizational structure of the business helps to accomplish the task systematically. The vision and mission of the company are accomplished due to organizational structure. It has various projects and more than 30,000 workers are working under the project named Ichthys LNG Project in different location of the world and 2000 workers are working under this project in Australia (Inpex Corporation, 2015). There are different departments in the organization in which the leaders delegate their responsibilities to the employee as per their skills. Along with that there are various departments such as compliance committee, CSR etc. various employees are connecting with Inpex Australia company due to deal of this company with various projects such as Prelude, Van Gogh, Kitan, Coniston, Ravensworth and Ichthys LNG Project.
The impact of several internal and external forces can lead the organization in the adverse situation, it in integral for the organization to understand them in an effective manner so that the possible action can be taken within time from for eliminating them from the organization.
The internal forces can be the resources, operations, employees and diversity management . The resources have the important role to maintain the quality of work especially for the human capital (Inpex Corporation, 2015). To maintain the quality of the operations, Inpex has to invest in the training and development program (Ford, 2014). Employee satisfaction is an integral aspect for every kind of organization. The demand of the employee especially those who are working offshore sites will be increased significantly. The appraisal and the promotion can put the burden on the financial asset of the company. Inpex is more focused to hire the people from different culture because it aims to make the work environment with full of different cultures. It is necessary for the organization to implement the policies that aids them to manage the diversity workforce (Maylor, Blackmon & Huemann, 2016). Improper handling of the employees will lead the company in the adverse situation where the image of the company can be affected (Schermerhorn, Davidson, Poole, Woods, Simon & McBarron, 2014).
There are some external forces as well which may impact the business which is defined below.
There are various political terms are made and restructured which influence the entire business activities. The policies regarding the production of oil and gases are changed as per the political terms which may influence the Inpex Company. There is some positive aspect as well in term of political factor as government has supported in huge way to Inpex Australia for promoting its services worldwide.
There are economic instabilities in various part of the world. It defines that companies should have proper structure of economic policies to earn huge profits. The income level of the employee can get influenced due to slowdown in certain countries which may impact the productivity of the employee through which the company has to suffer with huge losses.
The changes in society are being done due to demand of the customers as it increased the change in the operational mechanism of the business. The requirement of the oil and gas enhanced due to needs of the people. To understand the different concepts of different cultures, Inpex has appointed employees from different culture.
There are various kinds of technologies that enable the organization to make changes in an appropriate manner. The adaption of latest technology in term of production of oil and gas help the company to stay ahead of their competitors.
Various government policies regarding environmental has changed which forced the leaders of the company to think about the sustainable oil and gas production. However, the latest technology has adapted by Inpex for not hampering the environment. The project of the company is established far from the residential area which shows that Inpex is concerned about the people.
There are various kinds of risk that are confronting by Inpex. It is vital for the company to understand the risks in effective way so that it can be removed from the operation as soon as possible. Inflation rates have increased in different part of the countries which forced company to sell its products at high rat which may bring the challenges in the competitive environment. Sustainable business plan should be implemented by the company because of limited amount of natural sources. Company has moved towards the renewable sources which may impact the financial aspects of the company (Bryman & Bell, 2014).
The business practice decisions are able to enhance the performance of the organization (Turban, Sharda & Delen, 2011). Inpex organization has developed the cross-cultural program with aim of building the practical competency of the cultural across the business. It has been found that there are numerous individual initiatives that give clear support to Inpex which is helpful for the human resource management of the company to manage the array of complex cultural situations (Daspit, Chrisman, Sharma, Pearson & Long, 2017). There are various individual initiatives which focus on enhancing the intercultural relationship skills and sinking the gap of communication due to diversity within the organization (Singh, 2012). Various quality tools have been used by the company such as total quality management for improving the quality of the work.
The employee engagement is essential component for the business as it ensures that company’s relations with employees are healthy (Mone & London, 2018). Company should focus on the high performance work practice because it can increase the enthusiasm of the employee towards accomplishing the task. Pollock, Jefferson & Wick, (2015), stated that training and development program are essential component for the company as it helps to encourage employee to understand their task effectively so that mistakes could not be done (Bryman & Bell, 2014). The effective business practice decisions are being adopted by Inpex to promote the integrity within the business. It has been evaluated that Inpex is more concerned about making the cultural understandings in the business which include the team safety and respect of the culture of the different employee.
The role of various functions in the organization has kept importance in attaining the strategy of the organization. There are various kinds of functions that may impact the business significantly. These can be human resource management, marketing, research and development, technology and innovation and finance. In the context of human resource management, it helps to maintain the quality in the work by encouraging the employee. Marketing is the vital function of the organization that covers various kind of role. This function aids to promote the brand of the company. The sales of the company can be increased with the help of efficiency in marketing function. The department of information and technology managed the various communication mediums along with the different kind of technologies. It assists to provide the information about the latest technology which may bring the advantageous factors not only for the organization but also for the employee (Wooldridge, Schmid & Floyd, 2008). Finance function of the company plays an integral role in attaining the strategy of the organization. However, the impact of financial constraints is liable in any implementation of strategy.
