CEO of the company is Susan Wojcicki. YouTube is considered as a parent organization of Google. The company offers video hosting services and from all over the world the videos are also posted by the users which can be accessed easily. It can be easy for the users to access the videos by sitting anywhere in the world.
One of the aspects in which YouTube excel is related to offering best video streaming services. It can be evaluated that the company is one of the biggest and popular company in offering best services on a global platform. The videos can be accessed by the people by sitting anywhere in the world. Through this platform, the customers can easily view the videos of their interest in every field. The information related to news and also entertainment is available on the site. Through YouTube, it can be easy for the customers to view any serials or the episodes showcased on the television. It is the best platform that helps the customers to gain knowledge as well as aware the people in a proper manner. There is no such platform available for the customers to view the videos but only YouTube is one of the best platforms through which the customers or users can view the videos in good quality or in HD quality (Huang et al., 2015).
If a comparison is made with Facebook it is seen that the services are provided in a better way by YouTube. There are various users who open their account on the YouTube so that they can upload their videos of their interest and can grab the interest of the other customers. The services which are provided by the company are accepted by the customers and large market share is grabbed in an effective manner. The company has achieved success by offering a range of videos to the customers. The customers can easily view the channels as well as many videos (Pires and Simon, 2015). The success is only achieved by the company because the services that are offered in the market are effective.
Another aspect is related to the large customer base in which the company excels. It has been that the company has attracted a large mass of audience. Nowadays the majority of the popular using YouTube to watch videos and also they upload their videos. It is a platform which is also related to education. There are also videos which are uploaded and through that education can be given to the people. It is a platform through which majority of people are gaining and practicing many different ideas (Park, Naaman, and Berger, 2016). The videos are uploaded of the people of their interest. Like instance; the dance group start their page and start uploading the videos so that people can watch it. By enhancing the range of view it can also be easy to earn more. Therefore, it has been evaluated that it is not an only source of education but also a source of earning of people (Barry et al., 2016). By uploading the videos people set their income by considering the number of viewers. If there are more viewers the person who uploaded videos will earn more.
So it is important for the people to enhance their followers. People are attracted towards the website and also the services provided by the company. The company has a large customer base through which profits can also be earned in an easy manner. YouTube is considered as the biggest platform that helps the company to achieve success in the competitive market. It has been evaluated that people learn and acquire new skills by considering or focusing on the videos which are uploaded by the experts or by the educational departments. In the present scenario, now each and everything can be learned by accessing the YouTube website. People acquire new skill by seeing the videos uploaded to YouTube like food videos; fashion videos and can also see news in a proper way (Agnihotri et al., 2016).
Censorship is one of the aspects that the company is criticized for. It has been seen that many times there are various issues that take place with the people. The videos that are not good are not censored by YouTube. When public or an individual complains about it then also they take time to remove the videos. This is considered as a major problem faced by the users. In terms of services of YouTube, it has been seen that it has prohibited the posting of videos which violate the overall copyright or any illegal act. The videos which are not preferred and ethical for the society are also posted by the people on YouTube. It has an adverse effect on the mindset of the customers (Siersdorfer et al., 2010). Due to this, there are also many parents who are afraid for their children because on YouTube there are many videos which are not good or beneficial for them to see (Hourcade et al., 2015).
YouTube is also criticized because the public ask various questions related to the website and they require answers to the questions. But by not having good service YouTube is not able to offer a quick response which creates a negative image in the mind of the customers (Alphabet, 2017).
It has also been seen that YouTube has also criticized for the immature community. There are many comments that are made on YouTube and also there are many customers who are giving rude comments to the individuals (Alhabash et al., 2015). When the users ask any question then it is important for the company to give revert but it can be analyzed that YouTube is not able to revert the queries of the customers which has created a negative thought in the mind of the customers.
Conclusion
By analyzing the report it can be concluded that YouTube is one of the biggest company in context to the service related to the videos. It is seen that company has achieved a large market share and also the profitability of the company has enhanced in an effective manner. In this report, there are two aspects which are discussed in which the company excels. The first aspect is related to offering best video streaming services and the second aspect on which discussion is made is related to a large customer base. Through large customer base, it can be easy for the company to achieve success in the competitive market. In the last aspect, the criticism is made on the aspects related to censorship and immature community. The company should focus on giving quick responses so that the criticism can be minimized of the customers and it will help to enhance the overall satisfaction level. Also, it is important to create proper censorship so that services can be availed in a proper manner by the users.
